Rethink Beds, an innovative company based in Viljandi specialises in bed development and production. Although the company was founded in 2022, its expertise in bedding manufacturing dates back nearly 30 years to the establishment of Toom Tekstiil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Markko-Rollin P\u00f5dra, CEO of Rethink Beds, the company’s focus is on creating user-centric products with the smallest possible environmental footprint. The NOOM business software has played a significant role in helping the company move towards paperless production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s efforts in digitalisation were also recognised with the EIS Entrepreneurship Award, where it ranked among the Top five in the “Industry Digitaliser 2024” category. We examined their work processes, innovative production technologies, and future vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Rethink Beds’ focus is on creating user-centric products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rethink Beds utilises the latest manufacturing technologies and develops innovative materials, enhancing sleep quality for 30,000 consumers annually\u2014both in homes and hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their product development is driven by user-centricity, premium comfort, and ergonomic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO Markko-Rollin P\u00f5dra explains: “A user-centred product essentially means that its ergonomics are personalised based on the user’s body shape and weight, while comfort and softness are tailored to individual preferences.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, customers can customise their bed’s appearance to match their style. “The aesthetic design of the product can be adapted to suit the user’s taste and bedroom interior,” adds Markko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOOM business software has been an integral part of operations since day one<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From day one, Rethink Beds<\/a> decided to manage its business processes using NOOM business software<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“NOOM allows us to manage our operations as efficiently as possible. Objective and easily accessible data help us make informed decisions in sales, production processes, inventory, and cash flow management,” says Markko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout its operations, Rethink Beds has continuously enhanced the innovative software solutions developed for the company, further streamlining work processes through automation for greater speed and convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finance Manager Aili and Procurement Manager Gea emphasise the importance of carefully assessing a company’s specific needs before implementing the software. “I would advise new NOOM users first to gain a clear understanding of what they expect from the system. This makes all processes significantly faster,” Gea explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production Manager Maia also encourages businesses to explore solutions that simplify operations. “Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you know what you need, NOOM will definitely provide it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Receiving orders and sending documents of goods electronically<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Efficient management of customer orders requires structure and automated solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Rethink Beds’ Customer Manager, Marika Tammai, NOOM has made her work significantly easier. “Electronic order processing and the ability to send goods documents directly through NOOM simplify my job considerably.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the software enables seamless creation of loading plans within the company. “I generate a digital picking list for the warehouse so they can load the right goods into the lorry in the correct order.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marika also greatly appreciates NOOM’s simple and quick features for Intrastat reporting and packaging declarations, making compliance and reporting much more efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ordering materials without Excel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Throughout Rethink Beds’ operations, the NOOM software platform has been continuously enhanced to bring more and more business processes into a centralised system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Procurement Manager Gea Semkiv highlights significant improvements on the purchasing side: “Ordering materials and optimising stock levels have become much more efficient. I can now schedule material deliveries precisely in time for production, preventing unnecessary stockpiling in the warehouse.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Excel can be helpful in some cases, it is not the most optimal tool for managing business processes. Rethink Beds aimed to eliminate the intermediary step between data analysis and order creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Previously, we copied all the necessary data into Excel, analysed it, and then placed the order through NOOM. Now, the entire material ordering and analysis process is done directly within NOOM,” explains Gea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fully paperless machine operators<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When managing and overseeing production, the company aims to move increasingly towards paperless operations to improve information flow efficiency and contribute to environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So far, we have successfully transitioned two machine operators to a fully paperless workflow, where they work exclusively with tablets,” says Production Manager Maia Pavlova pridefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With NOOM, all essential information is swiftly transferred within the company, while orders are prioritised and tasks are reported in real-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A step forward with digital transformation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rethink Beds is finalising its digitalisation<\/a> roadmap for the next three years, unlocking exciting new opportunities for the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As part of our digitalisation roadmap, we will implement a scanner that captures the end user’s biometric data, enabling us to offer truly personalised bed solutions,” explains Markko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve production efficiency and material usage, Rethink Beds plans to invest in digitally controlled manufacturing technologies in the coming years, including a collaboration with Astro Baltics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
