What is the difference between NOOM, Cloudics and Astro Baltics?

Astro Baltics (AB) is a company that has been operating since 1998. Its purpose is to offer intelligent, comprehensive, and flexible IT solutions. Our portfolio includes Cloudics management and payment platform and NOOM business software.

Is NOOM a web-based software?

NOOM is server-based central economic software. Each customer has a software database separate from our standard development database on their own computer and hosted on their own, AB’s, or third-party (service provider’s) server.

Cloudics is an innovative cloud-based management and payment solutions platform for gas stations, car washes, EV charging stations and commerce.

The Cloudics mobile app offers a convenient and fast refuelling, charging, and shopping experience.

What is web-based software, and what is server-based software?

Server-based economic software works on a server in the company’s intranet or on a third-party (service provider) server.

Web-based business software is software that runs in a web browser, i.e. all software and data are located on cloud servers, not on the user’s own computer or on the company’s internal server.

Can work processes continue if the internet connection is interrupted?

A constant internet connection is generally required, as the software uses a server to process and access data.

Server-based (NOOM) business software can continue to work even if the internet connection is interrupted, but the functionality may be limited. Retail, business sales, production and other vital functionalities also work offline. If you have your own server solution, our software provides offline capability, allowing you to continue work processes without interruption.

A constant internet connection is usually required to use cloud-based (Cloudics) business software. Because cloud-based software stores data in the cloud, you must have an internet connection to connect and access the software.

What kind of internet connection is required to use NOOM?

A cable connection (from 50 Mbit/s) is recommended. If there is mobile internet, a static IP is necessary for the operation of certain services.

Internet speed is important when trying to use NOOM remotely (remotely) or if there are multiple locations. If the server and most of the employees are located in the office, the internet speed is not as important.

In the case of cloud-based software, a sufficiently fast internet connection ensures a smooth and trouble-free user experience since the software runs on web servers and can be accessed through an internet connection.

A high-speed internet connection enables fast software loading, real-time data updating, and smooth operation without delays or slowdowns. It is especially important when working with large data sets or when multiple users have simultaneous access to ensure efficient data transfer and response time.

How is the license verified?

A request is made to NOOM’s central server for license verification, and the license is checked to see if it is valid. If the license is not found within 15 days of the starting month, the program informs that reactivation of the license failed, and the program can be used in a limited form.

Where can I turn with questions or concerns regarding the software use?

Astro Baltics’ website has a free user support centre where you can access NOOM’s user and video manuals 24/7.

You can also send us a message or email via the homepage and general email.

Call our helpline on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you have any questions. All incoming calls are recorded. If, for some reason, we are unable to answer your call immediately, we will call you back within the same business day or the next business day at the latest to provide you with the support and assistance you need.

Questions forwarded to software consultants and technicians from the information desk are charged and priced according to the price list.

What does the minimum service time of 30 minutes include?

In addition to the time spent on direct contact and/or service work, we also include the time spent finding out the content of the customer’s work, starting the remote work, evaluating the volume related to the service work, obtaining and processing the information needed for the content of the service work from other resources/partners, describing the service work contents into an information system and planning follow-up activities in the service work time calculation.

Why are consultation and services charged?

Our licensing model does not include services or other hidden costs. This allows customers to choose additional services and consulting according to their usage needs while maintaining the software’s favourable use based on the given rental model.

The charged services we offer are designed to ensure fairness. They allow us to treat our entire customer base more equally, providing fair and transparent pricing for all customers.

What does the license fee include?

The license fee depends on the software modules used and the number of workstations. We prefer a transparent approach, where a license only pays for the right to use the software in the form fixed in the lease agreement.

Why are version updating services charged?

Since NOOM is server-based software, updates and changes made centrally are not automatically reflected immediately on all clients. In order to download version updates, our consultant and/or technician must generally intervene to update the NOOM database located at the client. Due to customer-specific solutions, upgrades often need to be reviewed by a consultant.

The customer can re-download or update the existing version themself.

Is it possible to add additional functionalities to NOOM that meet my company’s needs?

NOOM business software is one of the few on the market that can be fully customized according to the company’s business logic. It has a high capacity for special solutions, and thanks to its modular structure, it is flexible and has a wide standard functionality.

Why may special solutions require additional costs in the future?

With special solutions implemented in the past, it can be difficult to anticipate all possible developments and needs related to upgrades or additions, after which special solutions may need to be adapted or compatibility ensured.

Special solutions must also be able to adapt to security requirements arising from customers’ economic activities and updates of national regulations, which require constant updating and upgrading of software.

Therefore, ensuring the long-term operation of ordered special solutions can lead to additional costs, such as implementing upgrades and making adjustments.

This may include optimizing performance, ensuring security, ensuring compatibility after upgrades, and responding to the customer’s requests for additional functionality.

This approach allows us and our clients to share risks. The customer can order suitable solutions in time according to the company’s financial capacity.

What device can NOOM be used on? Are there any restrictions on devices and software?

NOOM can be used on a desktop or laptop running Windows 10 or later.

*There are technical solutions for using NOOM on Mac devices. If interested, ask for more.

Cloudics can be used through a web browser, available on almost any device with an internet connection and the ability to open web pages. This means that Cloudics can be used on PCs, laptops, tablets, and even smartphones, on Android and iOS, Windows and Mac.

For which companies are such software solutions suitable?

Server-based business software is suitable for companies that need greater adaptability of business processes, offline work capability and greater control over their data.

Cloud-based solutions may be more suitable for companies that value availability from anywhere and the possibility of use from any device. Web-based management software also has the advantage of lower hardware and maintenance costs.

How much does NOOM implementation cost?

For example, the volume of service work for the implementation of Basic sales and warehouse software starts at 50 hours.

The volume of service work for implementing the Basic production package starts from 250 hours.
